Dental crowns, also known as dental caps, are often used as a restorative method if a tooth is damaged or broken.


What are dental crowns?

A dental crown (or dental cap) covers your tooth to give it structure and support.

Porcelain (tooth colored crowns) are the most popular, because they resemble your natural teeth.

Similar to most dental restorations, they may eventually need to be replaced. Porcelain crowns are made to match the shape, size, and color or your teeth giving you healthy looking smile.

How does the dental crowns procedure work?

Dental crowns will happen within 2 appointments. You first will come into the dentist office to get impressions taken of your smile.

Your impressions will be sent to the dental lab, where your crown will be created. You will return to the dentist to have your crown placed into your mouth.
